energy efficiency
Brentwood Heating holds a City and Guilds 6084 Level 3 Certificate in Energy Efficiency. The drive to reduce global warming, and subsequent changes in Building Regulations, has brought about the Central Heating System Specifications (CHeSS) which defines ‘basic’ and ‘best practice’ components for new build and the upgrading of existing dwellings. The main effect is that, any new or replacement boiler fitted must reach a minimum efficiency level of 86% and various controls must be fitted. At present only condensing boilers are capable of reaching such levels. There is a formula for assessing whether a property can be exempt but in practice, few are.
